Sapienship.lab - A Resource for Educators

Yuval Noah Harari is an Israeli historian, professor, and author, best known for his critically acclaimed book "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind," which was published in 2014. The book explores the history and develop ment of the human species, covering various aspects such as biology, culture, and society. In addition to "Sapiens," Harari has authored other notable books, including "Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow" (2015), which explores the future of humanity in light of technological advancements, and "21 Lessons for the 21st Century" (2018), which examines the pressing issues and challenges facing society in the present day.

Harari's work focuses on the intersection of history, science, and society, and he has gained widespread recognition for his ability to present complex ideas in an accessible and thought-provoking manner. And according to Harari, “it’s vital for young people to be involved in the conversation about their future – and to tackle questions like… “Will humans one day live forever?” or… “Will we spend most of our time in virtual worlds in the coming decades?””. With this in mind Harari launched Sapienship Lab earlier this year.

Sapienship Lab is aan educational resource and platform for educators and lifelong learners. It offers a wide array of dynamic educational resources that aim to foster global, science-oriented, and critical thinking skills among students, with the intention of supporting parents and educators in their endeavors. The educational content provided by Sapienship Lab revolves around linking pressing universal inquiries to students' daily lives, stimulating their young minds to deliberate the possibilities and obstacles they may encounter in the future. It offers a variety of multimedia materials such as videos, quizzes, and podcasts, each accompanied by discussion points. These resources delve into significant historical events and near-future scenarios, encouraging critical analysis and philosophical contemplation.

I have checked it out and find it to be quite a helpful resource for anyone who teaches. Sapienship Lab has lesson plans and activities on important global themes that are affecting all sectors of society, and its aim is to get these conversations to classrooms of young people around the world.
