IELTS Writing Task 2

In the writing section of the IELTS exam, candidates need to write a discursive essay. The question may have an opinion, problem, or issue that candidates need to respond to. PEEL Paragraph 1

  • Point: State your point

  • Explain: Explain your point in detail

  • Evidence and Examples: Provide evidence and examples that support your point

  • Link: Link ideas back to point, opinion, or next point

PEEL Paragraph 2

  • Point: State your point

  • Explain: Explain your point in detail

  • Evidence and Examples: Provide evidence and examples that support your point

  • Link: Link ideas back to point, opinion, or next point

Conclusion

  • Paraphrase your opinion

  • Summarize points

  • State the relevance of the topic
